The Pedagogy
The teaching methodology emphasizes interactive and participatne learning which includes lectures, case method, role plays, in class presentation and simulation exercises, which necessarily entails extensive background reading and pre-class preparation.
Eminent personalities from industry are also invited to deliver lectures on different contemporary issues. Emphasis is also laid on teamwork through group exercises and group presentations.
Projects in organization
Apart from concentrating on classroom studies, students are made to do live projects on various subjects in selected organizations. The projects last for about 2-3 months or sometimes for almost 2 semesters. On completion, students are asked to submit a report and make a presentation of their learning. They are then evaluated by a team of eminent professors. These projects give students a feel and an exact understanding of how the real business functions.
Apart from the above-mentioned in-depth study, the participants are subjected to evaluation through class participation, assignments, quizzes and examinations.
Evaluation system
The objective of evaluation is not only to measure the performance of students, but also to motivate them for better performance.
Students are evaluated on the basis of class tests, quizes class
participation, home assignments, projects and mid-semester and
end-semester examinations. The method of evaluation as well as
weight age assigned to different types of tests are determined by the faculty within the frame work of Institute's Policy. The evaluation scheme of every course is
announced by the Faculty in the beginning of each semester.
